PRESENT GOVERNING BODY
01. Chairman
A. K. Fazlul Bari


Mr. A. K. Fazlul Bari is an Agronomist and a Rural Development Expert. He is well experienced in the development sector of Bangladesh. He had completed both Honors and Masters in Agriculture. In addition, he also obtained Master Degree from the Michigan University, U.S.A. in Agronomy.

He is one of the pioneers in the field of Micro-credit Program in Bangladesh. Mr. A. K. Fazlul Bari had retired as the Director from Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) at present he is works as consultant and provides honorary services to many voluntary and development organizations.


02. Vice Chairman
Dr. Mahmudul Alam


Dr. Mahmudul Alam is the Vice-Chairman of IDF. He is an economist. He completed B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He also completed Ph.D. from United Kingdom. He served as Professor in Economics in the University of Chittagong from 1970 to 1972, researcher in Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies from 1973 to 2002. He also worked as Senior Edn. Economist in the World Bank from 2002 to 2004 and served as Professor in BRAC University (IED) from 2004- 2005. He is currently serving now as the Dean of Business Faculty in the Northern University. He is also a member of CMES, CAMPE and Fatehabad Foundation.


03. Member Secretary / Executive Director
Zahirul Alam


Mr. Zahirul Alam completed his master in Economics from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He started his career with Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus as the founder member-secretary of Rural Economic Program (REP) from which Grameen Microfinance Model was developed. He left REP in 1976 to join Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) as Action Research Fellow. He worked there in an experimental project on the improvement of landless poor and small farmers through micro credit before he joined ILO in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in March 1984 as a Specialist in Income Distribution and Basic Needs Related Issues and later as an economist. He came back home in 1992 to work for the poor and disadvantaged people of backward and un-served areas of Bangladesh and established Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) in December same year. He has many publications in the field of micro-finance.


04. Joint Secretary
Maung Thai Ching


Mr. Maung Thoai Ching is a Headman of a Mouza in Bandarban Hill District for a long time and thus, has gained vast experience on the social as well as geographical aspects of Chittagong Hill Tracts.


05. Treasurer
Mr. Jawher Lal Das


Mr. Jawher Lal Das completed his B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. He has been working with the United Nation from 1979 to 2012. He acted as Supply and Procurement Officer in United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He also served as the General Secretary of FUNSA and Chairperson of UNDP Staff Association.

Prof. Md. Shahid-ul-Amin Chowdhury


Mr. Md. Shahidul Amin Chowdhury completed his B.A (Hons.), M.A. and B.Ed. He is a renowned educationist. He served in various Government Colleges in various positions. He also served as the Principal at Chittagong Teachers’ Training College. He retired in …… and has working as consultant in a DFID project on English Education for Higher Secondary Education teachers since his retirement. He also extends honorary services to many social and development organizations.

Principal Rezaul Kabir


Mr. Md. Rezaul Kabir is an educationist. He completed his Honors and Masters in English from the University of Chittagong. He is the founder of a Degree College namely Bara Awlia Degree College in Chittagong. He served as a Principal in many colleges. At present, he is serving as the Principal of Islamia Degree College in Chittagong.

Hosne Ara Begum


Mrs. Hosne Ara Begum completed her B.A. She has been working with the development sector in Bangladesh for a long period of time. She also served as the Board of Director in UN Women Association in Addis Ababa for about 5 years.


09. Member
Principal Afroza Khanam


Mrs. Afroza Khanam is an educationist. She completed B.A. (Hons), M.A. in English Literature and B.ED. She worked as a lecturer in English and afterwards as a principal in Comilla Mohila College. Moreover, she acted as the Head Examiner (English) under Comilla Board. She had also participated in the UNICEF’s Pre-testing Health Education Programmer.
