Programe> RENEWABLE ENERGY
IDF has been implementing Renewable Energy Program 'Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Development Project (REREDP)'. This is a government initiated program jointly financed by Government of Bangladesh, World Bank and Global Environment Fund (GEF).

The main objective of the program is to provide small-scale electricity supply to the rural poor people of Bangladesh, who have no access to the electricity supply of Rural Electrification Board (REB).

IDF has been implementing the program in the hilly, remote and rural areas of Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari (CHT), Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar Districts of Bangladesh.

Criteria for Subsidy

• Have no access to the National Grid Electricity Supply at present, nor a chance to get at least in one year
• Must take the SHS on lease or credit at least for one year
• Subsidy is limited to only for selected SHS
